Marquees
There is a level space alongside the barn which can accommodate
a marquee up to 60' x 40' (capacity 200-240), with easy access through
the barn’s double doors(see Barn
Layout).
With parties using a building with an attached marquee, there is
a danger, if the marquee is somewhat remote, or connected by a canvas
tunnel, that the event will split into two groups. At Cripps, with
the marquee immediately beside the barn and with the wide opening
between them, the two spaces operate as one and guests flow freely
from bar to seating area to dance floor.
For a wedding party you really need 2 zones for the smooth operation of the day and so we insist that all weddings over 50 people book a marquee.
Other types of party may not need a marquee but please note that if you hire the barn without a marquee, there
may well be a marquee in place anyway for other events, but the
access will be closed.

Marquee, aluminium framed, with:
- Dimmable fairy lights in roof.
- Gable end window walls.
- Green and white side walls.
- Pleated ivory lining and swags.
- Coconut matting on wooden floor.
- Up-lighters behind lining on dimmers.
Seating capacities shown are absolute maximums with 5’6” round tables seating 10 people each (tables not included in price).
Standing capacities allow for 6 sq.ft. per person.

With the bar in the marquee: Capacity 150 seated, 250 standing
Without the bar in the marquee: Capacity 180 seated, 300 standing
